if there was one thing that tinsley knew about ben from her time working with him was that he knew exactly what to say to get his way every single time. so somehow he'd managed to sweet talk her back into working and recording again. he'd said something about handling a new manager for her and had come through, he'd managed to even sweet talk his manager into taking her on as a client. everything was different now wasn't it? everything should have been back to normal but it wasn't. but the doctors weren't sure what was happening to tinsley these days. they'd said over and over again that her medicine should be working and that there was no reason for her body to be rejecting it. she should be healthy.
so she'd agreed to what ben had said, finding no reason whatsoever as to why she shouldn't do as her boss had practically begged her to. her shoes sat abandoned in the corner as tinsley ran her fingers across the piano keys before taking her seat. with a single glance over at the dog that seemed to follow her everywhere, she smiled and pulled the lonely sheets of paper that held her latest works from her bag. the black splotches against the white paper held such a familiar look to them that tinsley couldn't help the smile that built up on her lips and the slight giggle that escaped her lips. playing was such a joy to her and she could forget the world then and only then. it was her escape from a hell that would forever haunt her and she never wanted to let go of it.
as her fingers crawled across the keys, crossing and caressing the ebony and ivory, she found herself handing everything that she had every emotion in her body to the melody that was written on the page. she poured her soul, her being into the piano like it was the last breath of air she'd ever take in her life. if someone had been around to watch her they'd feel everything that she'd been feeling when she's pressed the pencil to the lined paper. every single little thought that she'd had at the time would have been clear as day. too bad it was only tinsley and ainsleigh in the empty room. after all, this was just her warm up.
minutes ticked by and surrendered to the music, tinsley didn't feel the signs. she didn't hear the whimpering from ainsleigh. she didn't feel the pain start up. so when it happened she fell face first into the piano, spasming as the first wave took over. she fell off the bench and onto the floor, blood trickling from her forehead as ainsleigh took off down the hall barking as if she'd gone mad.
